Mission Statement:  "West Point-Beemer Schools Foundation: Raising funds to ensure West Point Public Schools the resources needed to maintain a student focused community that develops life long learners through a progressive quality education."

The West Point Public Schools Educational Foundation is a fund that directly and indirectly benefits the young people of West Point today, and the entire community both today and tomorrow. All contributions, bequests, and gifts of real or personal property, no matter what their size, are appreciated. Foundation Scholarship Members
One of the most meaningful legacies we can give our children is a solid educational background.  Today's students must have access to all of the tools they will need to be successful, productive, and responsible adults.

But education is very expensive and is becoming more so.  Federal and state aid to education has been declining, and local property taxes have to be used to make up that deficit.  Often, programs that would enrich and expand the educational lives of today's students are being eliminated due to economic necessity

"How can you help maintain a quality education?"

Restricted Gifts

Staff Betterment:
These funds are primarily utilized to encourage and provide WPPS staff with opportunities to further develop themselves professionally. It is also used to enhance programs already available to WPPS staff. The ultimate goal of this program is to help eliminate some of the obstacles that can help prevent teachers from excelling.
Examples could include:

Ø Summer scholarships for teachers to attend educational conferences

Ø To reward achievement-based programs for bringing positive recognition to WPPS and its students
Scholarships:
As teachers excel, so do students. The scholarship program has been established as part of the Educational Foundation. Contributions may be given for individual scholarships, group scholarships, and program scholarships. Your contribution in the form of a scholarship can be utilized for further educational opportunities by our students to pursue a variety of educational experiences.
Examples of this could include:
Ø Funding for higher education
Ø Providing funding for educational trips by our students presently enrolled in WPPS
Ø Helping meet the needs of our current and future diverse student population
Curriculum & Instruction:
Today’s students require a multi-level educational experience. Providing WPPS students with an updated and well-rounded curricular program is the primary focus for the teaching staff of WPPS. The foundation wants to ensure that the curriculum and instructional processes of the district help us fulfill our mission statement of "providing a student-focused community, that develops responsible, life-long learners through a progressive, quality education."
Examples of this could include:
Ø Providing funding for additional educational resources, such as books, computers, and/or staff
Campus Improvement:
In our ever-changing fiscal environment, it is important WPPS has available alternative means to improving its facilities. The goal of the Foundation is to provide WPPS with funds to improve its present facilities. In order to continually provide a quality education, we had to be able to keep our facilities updated.
Examples of this could include:
Ø Funding for renovations in a computer lab
Ø Providing other building improvements to enhance the academic experience of our students
