Alternative Energy Learning Center
Welcome to West Point Public School's Alternative Energy Learning Center!
The Alternative Energy Learning Center houses examples of Green Energy systems that will help with our future energy needs and show the importance of environmental stewardship. This on-sight facility will benefit our students from not having to travel to see the different systems that will be installed. Students have the opportunities to observe, interact and construct new systems that can be added or interchanged with the systems already in place.
The completed structure contains some essential energy systems, monitors and sensors for the analysis of the installed systems. The "Learning Center" has been designed to show the inner workings of all the systems. In house computers will monitor the Wind Generator, Photovoltaic Energy Output, Battery Backup Storage, Geothermal Readings, and Temperature Variance both inside and out.
The Alternative Energy Learning Center will affect the entire District along with the surrounding districts. Our "Learning Center' will be used by Grade School students, first learning about Zero Energy Systems, to High School students observing, learning, and using these systems. Along with our District other local districts, Tech schools, Community Colleges, even Universities will be invited to come and observe what we are doing.
