Morning Fitness

Dear Parents,

Mr. Redmond and I would like to share with you that the Cub Cadet Morning Fitness Club will continue again this year.  We know that exercise is essential to children's health because it helps improve their brain function as well as their physical well-being so starting the day off by coming to the Morning Fitness Club will help kick start your child’s day.  When children come to school in the morning they are to come to morning fitness club or go to breakfast.

Morning fitness club started August 20th with information below on how it works:

  • Every morning from 7:30-7:55 a.m. students may come over to the playground to participate in the Cub Cadet Morning Fitness Club by doing an organized fitness activity. (please drop off your children by the front doors and not by the courts to avoid traffic problems)
  • We will have stations for the students to start at depending on what grade they are in or students may just participate in the walk, run, or jog workout.
  • When students come over to the playground courts they will put their book bags in a designated area, sign-in by crossing their name off the list and then they will start their workout.
  • They must sign in by 7:50 a.m. to get credit for that day’s attendance.  Prizes will also be given out to students after every 20 attendances.  If the weather is bad or if it is too wet out we will have Morning Fitness Club in the elementary gym.  If this occurs, students will then need to put their book bag and coat in their locker and change into P.E. shoes before reporting directly to the gym to sign in.
  • We realize that many of our students eat breakfast at school.  If so, they will need to eat breakfast before coming over to the playground or to the gym before signing in.
  • Those students who ride the bus are welcome to join us as well.  If they ride the bus and eat breakfast there may not be a lot of time to participate but just doing a lap around the playground will help get their day started on a positive note.
  • Pre-school students may only come to morning fitness club with an older brother or sister.  They must also stay with their sibling to be guided through the fitness stations.
  • Any students not following the rules of MFC will be warned and could be suspended or not allowed to come to MFC if the problem behavior continue to occur.

Students were informed about this at an assembly on the first day of school.

Parents are welcome to come and help or watch Morning Fitness Club also.  If you have any questions, please call Jason Redmond or Barb Rolf at the elementary school at 402-372-5507.
