The Coronavirus has ruined my senior year of high school. Just about everything I worked so hard for my senior year has been cancelled because of it.

The first thing that the coronavirus has ruined is State FBLA. I was really looking forward to this event because I am the president of my chapter, and the president gets to do things that not just any FBLA member can do.

This would include playing President’s Bingo at the State Leadership Conference. This is when every president from every chapter  comes together and plays bingo. Yes, that may seem lame, but I was really looking forward to it.

Another thing that the coronavirus cancelled is my last trip to Class B All-state band. I found out in February that I made it into the honor band placing fifth chair of eight and was excited to go a second time.

I honestly do not mind the online classes that we have except for Calculus. It took me five days to complete my assignment, and I barely passed. Otherwise, all of my other classes are fine.

On the positive note, I love dictating my own schedule. I get up around eight o’clock every day, and I try to finish a couple of assignments. At other times, I catch up on some shows, practice my alto saxophone, and attempt to make friendship bracelets.

I am hoping that we can have a normal end of the year, and I am hoping that we can come back because I never wanted my senior year to be like this. I would hate to miss out on our last banquets in high school or graduation. I have looked forward to those events since freshman year, and I’m sure my classmates feel the same.

I miss normal school days, talking to my teachers, and seeing my classmates. I certainly don’t want my senior year to end in the living room. Hopefully this will all be over soon.
