Graduation, Prom and Summer School Announcements

Close of the 2019-2020 School Year

1. West Point Beemer Graduation: July 18, 2020 at 10:00am

  • Graduation is tentatively planned for July 18, 2020. We hope to have  traditional graduation but, due to potential restrictions, we may have to have an alternate form of graduation. The ELVPHD would have to be lifted prior to July 13, 2020 for a traditional or alternative graduation to occur. If we are unable to have a traditional or alternative graduation on July 18th we would attempt to host a ceremony on August 1st.  In the event that restrictions are still in place and we are unable to host a traditional or alternative graduation, we will publish a virtual graduation.

    • If your child does not intend to participate in the July 18th  graduation ceremony, please contact Mr. Weddle by June 22nd at 402-372-5546.

    • Traditional: We hope that the ELVPHD restrictions will be lifted and we can hold a traditional graduation ceremony in the WPBHS Gym.

    • Alternative: If the ELVPHD restrictions have changed, but not sufficiently enough to hold a traditional graduation ceremony (Group of at least 1,000 people), we will offer some alternative options. This may only include the graduate and parents.

    • Virtual: If the ELVPHD restrictions remain very strict we will provide a virtual ceremony for public viewing.

2. Graduation Rehearsal: July 15, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. in the WPBHS Gym

  • We will only hold a graduation rehearsal if we are able to proceed with a traditional graduation ceremony.  More details will be shared by Mr. Weddle or Mrs. Mahannah as we get closer to this date.

  • Caps and Gowns will be picked up at this time.

3. “Prom”: Tentative July 10, 2020, 9:00pm - 12:00am

  • This will only occur if the ELVPHD restrictions are lifted by July 6.  If ELVPHD restrictions remain in place, the event will be cancelled with no plans to reschedule.

  • Tentative Details:

    • Juniors and Seniors, and their dates, are invited to attend.

    • Prom will be held at the Nielson Center

    • Post-Prom is TBD.

    • Formal/Informal attire.

    • More information will be communicated as we approach the July 10th date.

4. Summer School:

  • We will be working on a summer school option to be offered to Senior High students during the month of June or July.  More details will be shared by Mr. Weddle as we get closer to the end of the school year.
