ACT Registration / ACT Test Dates - 2 or 4 year Colleges/Universities

College Entrance Test

MAPS:  Community Colleges (2 year) use the MAPS as a placement test to determine skills in math reading and
English.  MAPS test can be taken at the NECC site in West Point throughout the year.  MAPS testing is also given at the high school each fall and spring for 9th through 11th grade students.

ACT (American College Test):  Is accepted by four year colleges and universities.  Test include sections over English, Math, Science Reasoning, and Reading.  The Writing section is optional.  The ACT is recommended by many Midwestern colleges and universities.  It is recommended that Juniors should take the ACT in April and retest as a senior.  National test dates for ACT are listed below.  Most student will not take the Writing portion of the ACT.  At the present time, no colleges/universities in Nebraska require the Writing Section.

SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test) Is accepted by four year colleges and universities.  Test includes Math, Reading, and Writing/Language.  The SAT test is required by many east and west coast college and some highly selective colleges.  Students can apply at www.collegeboard.com.

College Entrance Exams are used for placement, admissions, and qualifying for scholarships.

John Baylor ACT Prep Course Offered

The John Baylor ACT Prep On-line course is an investment by our school  to assist your student in preparing for the ACT (an important measure used for college admission and financial aid).

Junior & Senior students that plan to attend a 2 or 4 year college will have access to all of the ACT Prep sessions, materials and college counseling content.  There are 12, 45 minute on-line sessions.
