Nebraska HOBY Youth Leadership is excited to host an exciting leadership opportunity for 9th grade students from the Norfolk Metro Area. They will be hosting a one-day leadership experience on Saturday, March 22, 2025 from 9:15 am - 2:30 pm at the Norfolk Public Library. During this free event, 9th graders will participate in several sessions including great speakers, leadership activities, service learning projects, and reflections. It will be a fun, informative day with students from throughout the area. Registration is now open for up to three students from each school. Registration will close when we hit capacity of 40 students or by March 14. If any 9th grade students are interested, see Mrs. Knaak!

🚌FAN BUS🚌 West Point-Beemer will be offering a Fan Bus to Minden for the Girls Basketball District Final vs Minden on Friday for students in grades 7-12. The sign up sheet below needs to be turn into the high school office by Thursday, February 27th at noon (Sheets can also be picked up in the HS Gym). We ask that when you turn in your permission slip to also bring $5. The $5 will cover the cost of admission for the student at the game. ***We will need at least 30 students to sign up for the bus to make the trip.

Dairy Queen Blizzard Scholarship Day is this Thursday, February 27th! During this annual event, DQ donates $1 from every Blizzard sold to a senior in Cuming County to apply for a scholarship to continue their education. Grab some Blizzards to support your local seniors!

Friendship, Fitness and 5K Fun since 2003 Girls on the Run Is Back at West Point Beemer This Spring! West Point Beemer Middle School is set to host another fun and fabulous Girls on the Run team this spring for girls in 5th and 6th grades. Girls on the Run is an innovative after-school program that combines exercise, education, mentoring and “Girl Power!” to inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident with a curriculum that incorporates running/walking. Each meeting focuses on a topic like friendship or communication and includes engaging activities and running games that foster learning and skills on the lesson of the day. The team will be training to complete a 5K run/walk at the end of the season at the school. The team will meet twice weekly after school for 8 weeks starting March 4th. The JH games scheduled for tomorrow vs North Bend Central have been postponed. A make up date will be announced later.

The boilers are up and running, and we are planning for a regular start time to school tomorrow, Wednesday, February 19. Please ensure your students dress in layers and minimize their time outside on their way to school. Doors will open at 7:30 AM.

The West Point-Beemer Cadet Boys Basketball Team has earned the #1 seed in the C1-6 Boys Basketball Sub-District Tournament. They earn a 1st round bye and will face the winner of the Fort Calhoun vs Logan View game on Tuesday, February 25th at 6:00 PM.

There will be a Pep-Rally in the High School Gym tomorrow (Wednesday) for the Boys State Wrestling Qualifiers and our State Dance Team. The pep-rally will begin at 3:10 PM.

The Girls Basketball Sub-District games at North Bend are on as scheduled. West Point-Beemer will play Clarkson-Leigh at 7:30 PM tonight. Game may start early if time allows!

Due to a boiler issue, West Point Public Schools will be closed on Tuesday, February 18th. Stay warm!!!
